CSA Group has issued Drinking Water Products Notice No. 71 regarding updates to

NSF/ANSI/CAN 61-2024: Drinking Water System Components – Health Effects

The revised standard includes:

• Expanded PFAS testing requirements (7 target compounds)

• Updated acceptable contaminant levels

• Transition to the Threshold of Toxicological Concern (TTC) risk assessment approach

• Addition of seven brass alloys to Annex N-2 acceptable materials

Apply By Date: December 31, 2026

Effective Date: December 31, 202

Manufacturers of drinking water plumbing system components are encouraged to review the notice and assess potential impacts on certified products.
