I’m grateful for the opportunity to be President of the CWQA again and it has been an exciting start to my Presidency. From our strategic planning session in March some very focused pathways were developed. Engaging the services of First Lake Solutions, for the first time ever, we have a voice directly in front of governments for a wide variety of aspects. This will bode well for our association in the years to come. Through our lobbying we have been able to submit for a grant for a water quality map of Canada. The map will provide our industry with a central location to gather information from the water quality in the areas we work in.

Water Quality in New Home Build
Outlined below is a real life well water example which highlights the importance of proper water testing in rural home construction, and the importance of having certified individuals installing water treatment devices. Based on recent experiences in which concerned homeowners sought a bacterial test for their water. It resulted in the realization that their water quality far exceeded the parameters set out in the Canadian Drinking Water Quality Guidelines.

Obituary – Lyndon Barry Lesser
January 13, 1958 – November 1, 2023 It is with profound sadness that we announce the sudden passing of Lyndon Lesser on November 1, 2023. Lyndon will bee lovingly remembered by his high school sweetheart and wife of 46 years, Holly; children, Michael Lesser, Michelle (Christopher) Callaghan, and Crystal (Christian) Dafoe; grandchildren, Easton, Ashton, Brayden, Joshua, and Liam; family members, Colin, Rachel, Sherryn, Brent, Dickson, Rico, Dale, and Sharon; along with numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins. He was predeceased by his parents, Michael and Mary Lesser; sister, Elaine Tkatch; brother in-law, Edward Tkatch; mother in-law, Betty Lund; and father in-law, John Lund. Lyndon was born on January 13, 1958, in Saskatoon, SK. Soon after graduating from Bedford Road Collegiate in 1976, he started working with United Grain Growers in Tway, SK. as a grain purchaser. Lyndon had a passion for water chemistry and switched career paths to a service technician with Culligan Saskatoon in 1977. Dedicating himself with the franchise, along with hard work he became the President of Culligan Saskatoon. To the friends and employees he had the honor of getting to know over his 46 years with Culligan, thank you for being a special part of his life. His love for the outdoors brought our family many found memories of fishing, hunting, camping and quadding. Candle Lake was where he enjoyed spending time out on the water, trolling along. Sharing his knowledge of hunting and fishing to younger family members was his passion. Campfires and singing with his guitar brought memories to our family and friends that will never be replaced. Traveling to different parts of the world allowed him to meet and become friends with numerous people that brought so much joy to his life. We thank each one of you. We would like to thank the paramedics from Maple Creek along with his Grandson and Son in-law for going above and beyond the call of duty at that difficult time. Please know that our hearts are with you. A cerebration of Lyndon’s life was held at the Hillcrest Funeral Home (210 Wess Road) in Saskatoon on November 7, 2023.
