Robert Woodland
CWQA 2021 – 2022 President
Message from the CWQA President
I am excited to greet you as your new President of the CWQA!
As we begin to emerge from the uncertainness that the pandemic has presented over the past 15 months, I am eager to see what the future holds for us.
Although, without doubt, this season has challenged us in ways that none of us could have imagined, it has been a strong year for the water treatment industry. As we begin to transition from varying forms of lockdown, into a state of reopening, we at the CWQA look forward to being here to help. We hope to accomplish this by engaging with people to ensuring buildings and businesses reopen properly and safely. Water disinfection will play a vital role in attaining this goal. Our focus on education will be a driver in making this a success.
So, lets get ready to get back to business and provide quality, safe water for all and continue to be the professionals that each and every CWQA member is capable of doing. I look forward to meeting each of you in person at our upcoming in-person events.
Sincerely,
Rob Woodland.
AGM & Spring Conference
Recap of the Event:
The CWQA spring conference and annual general meeting was held at the end of April. Once again this event was held virtually, but with the beginning of reopening happening around the world, we are looking forward to next spring being different. The different will include a blend of in-person and virtual. The CWQA is a national association, and it seems only right to have the opportunity of our members from coast to coast to attend in a way that works for them.
A big thank you to all of our generous speakers. On the education side we had: Mike Weatherill, Jason Jackson, Grey Reyneke, Parag Deval, Peter Cartwright and Chrissy Wozniak. Then our two keynote speakers: Bill Carr and Jill Heinerth bookended the event for us.
As our event planning committee gathers to start to plan for next year, please feel free to let us know what you would like to see at an event for you, our CWQA member.

UV Education Quartz Sleeves
An often overlooked or unknown component of a UV system is the quartz sleeve / dome. It’s purpose is to act as a protective shield, preventing water from coming in contact with the electrically charged UV lamp. Quartz sleeves are located within the stainless steel chamber that is part of most residential and commercial UV systems.
