Water Quality Association (WQA)
Our sister organization in the United States.
WQA primarily represents the sector of the water treatment industry devoted to treating water on the homeowner’s or business-owner’s property. We often refer to this aspect of treatment as the Final Barrier that prevents waterborne contaminants from entering a home or business. Whether your water arrives from a community treatment plant, municipal well or other source, WQA’s member companies are committed to making that water safe and aesthetically pleasing for those who consume or use it.
Canadian Institute of Plumbing & Heating (CIPH)
The Canadian Institute of Plumbing & Heating (CIPH), founded in Montreal in 1933, is a not -for-profit trade association that is committed to providing members with the tools for success in today’s competitive environment. More than 260 companies are members of this influential Canadian industry association. They are the manufacturers, wholesaler distributors, master distributors, manufacturers’ agents, and allied companies who manufacture and distribute plumbing, heating, hydronics, industrial, waterworks, and other mechanical products. CIPH wholesalers operate more than 700 warehouses and showrooms across Canada. Total industry sales exceed $6 billion annually.
CIPH is the Association Management company for CWQA. They provide the professional staff, administrative support, office space, supplies, technology, and equipment our association needs to operate efficiently.
American Society of Plumbing Engineers (ASPE)
The American Society of Plumbing Engineers (ASPE) is the international organization for professionals skilled in the design, specification and inspection of plumbing systems. ASPE is dedicated to the advancement of the science of plumbing engineering, to the professional growth and advancement of its members and the health, welfare and safety of the public. The Society disseminates technical data and information, sponsors activities that facilitate interaction with fellow professionals, and, through research and education, expands the base of knowledge of the plumbing engineering industry.
CWQA and ASPE have an MOU in place to exchange information and knowledge.
Canadian Advisory Council on Plumbing (CACP)
The Canadian Advisory Council on Plumbing (PIAC) acts in an advisory capacity to participating accredited organizations on matters pertaining to standards and conformity assessment programs affecting plumbing. The Council is intended to provide an important opportunity for members to share new concepts and ideas, to discuss policy and programs, and to review innovations and new technologies that affect standards and the certification and testing of plumbing products. The Council advises accredited certification organizations on the suitability of new plumbing products to meet existing related Codes or Standards.
