CWQA Training Program
CWQA delivers their education on water treatment in a ‘modular’ format. It provides a progressive, step by step path towards education on specific topics and towards CWQA’s various professional certifications, with training that reflects every-day, on-the job scenarios and customer questions.
Who is this for?
This program is for anyone involved in the water treatment market, from non-technical office staff to sales and marketing personnel, to installers and service technicians and system designers. Specific educational pathways address the learning needs of each job role, and provide the flexibility for building custom educational paths based on topics of interest to the learner.
How are the courses delivered?
The educational materials in the new program are presented as short, discreet courses that gradually build in technical difficulty to guide the learner from basic to more advanced concepts. The content for both the courses and the background reading needed to complete them is delivered electronically, online. An in-class session occurs after each major area to apply the practical elements of the training and to test your knowledge. All the courses consist of learning activities that simulate real-world problem solving so that the learner is able to immediately apply the education to his/her day-to-day job.
The program includes a mentor assigned to each student who will:
- assist students when they are having trouble progressing through an area
- answer any questions in regards to the program and how it works
- confirm your success of various modules to move forward in the program
- provide you with encouragement to work through the program for a successful result
Job Grants for Training Available
The Canada Job Grant will provide direct financial support to individual employers who wish to purchase training for their employees. It will be available to small, medium and large businesses with a plan to deliver short-term training to existing and new employees, and will:
- Provide up to $10,000 in government support per person for training costs.
- Require employers to contribute one-third of the total costs. There will be additional flexibility for small businesses to provide an in-kind contribution towards their share of the costs.
- Require training to be delivered by an eligible, third-party trainer.

Quebec: The governments of Canada and Quebec have recognized that the Quebec training system already includes the key principles of the Canada Job Grant-greater employer involvement and employer investment in training.
How to get started

- Determine where you “start” in the training structure. If you have prior training, please see our Prior Learning Assessment document and complete the form if you qualify for evaluation. If you don’t have prior training, you will begin at the online Basics course.
- Review the Course Descriptions. Contact us if more information is required.
- We will issue you your login information within 5 business days of payment.
