How do I know if a product is certified?
There are several certification organizations that are accredited to certify product in North America. The certifying body is required to ensure their mark is placed on products it certifies.
Are all products certified?
There are certain products and technologies (i.e. certain water treatment devices) that may not have a standard to which it can be certified to. These products are an exception to the rule and may be permitted for sale and installation in some cases. Check with your local authority having jurisdiction for compliance to local codes and bylaws in these cases.
