Definition
Flood control refers to all methods used to reduce or prevent the detrimental effects of flood waters. Flood relief refers to methods used to reduce the effects of flood waters or high water levels.
CWQA’s position on flood management
As climate changes, it is our observation that weather events may have more of a chance of becoming extreme. When environments flood, vital equipment in the basement is often compromised. Recommissioning and replacing that equipment to recondition the infrastructure is a vital part in the recovery of the community.
How CWQA members can help
CWQA members are responsible for their installed systems within a building. They are the experts on how to manage systems prior to flooding and afterwards.
What is CWQA doing about it?
